Diaspo partnered with Spotify, Amazon and Accenture.

The Opportunity
There's a wealth of knowledge and skills possessed by older adults that's not being shared. Diaspo aimed to bridge this gap by equipping them with user-friendly digital tools. Recognising food as a powerful connector across generations, Diaspo sought a product team to help achieve product-market fit after participating in incubator and accelerator programmes.
Design Process
We designed various tech tools specifically for home cooks, with a focus on user-friendliness for older adults who might not be as tech-savvy. This meant creating an intuitive user interface (UI) that still reflected the visual appeal of a food brand.
Understanding Older Adults' Needs
We conducted research with older adults to understand their design preferences. This research informed various product experiments and the creation of design guidelines ensuring the core audience's needs were met.
Rapid Design Iterations
Diaspo's incubator and accelerator experience necessitated a quick path to product-market fit. We used Miro for user journey planning and Figma for creating low and high-fidelity wireframes. Before launch, prototypes were built in Figma and tested with a core user group.
Development
We rapidly developed various tech tools to support older adults and aspiring cooks during the pandemic. Diaspo collaborated with renowned chef Jamie Oliver, partnered with Amazon, Spotify, and Accenture, and offered assistance to many throughout this challenging time.
Live Cooking Class Marketplace
As the pandemic drove interest in learning new skills and connecting virtually, Diaspo offered over 200 live cooking classes. We built a platform with comprehensive filtering options allowing users to search by factors like date, cuisine, instructor, and more. Users could subscribe to plans or purchase individual classes.

Online Learning Platform
At its core, Diaspo functioned as an online learning platform. Goodspeed assisted in building the platform's functionalities, which included hosting asynchronous video lessons (powered by Vimeo), live classes, and structured courses with step-by-step recipes. An admin dashboard was created for home cooks to manage their lessons, classes, and recipes.
Partnering with Spotify, Amazon & Accenture
Recognising the need for team-building activities during the pandemic, Diaspo offered a solution for companies to book virtual cooking socials with experienced home cooks. This fully automated process provided companies with a Zoom link to join the class and the recipe afterward.
Shopify For Home Cooks
As the pandemic subsided, Diaspo pivoted to support home cooks seeking to sell their food online. Many were using Instagram for sales, which could be disorganized and time-consuming. Goodspeed built a SaaS tool allowing any home cook to quickly set up an online store and sell their culinary creations.
