Older adults have a huge amount of experience knowledge, and skills that isn't being transferred. Our client wanted to equip these older adults with digital skills with an easy to use and intuitive platform. Food is the best way to connect generations.

THE SOLUTION

With our team of product managers, Figma designers, and Bubble developers, we scoped, designed and developed a home cook marketplace and SaaS tool. This was a tool that empowered older adults to digitally up skill while earn new sources of revenue. Diaspo was featured on mainstream media like Sky News, Financial Times and ITV. It supported companies to connect during the pandemic, collaborating with Spotify, Amazon and Accenture. It partnered with celebrity chefs including Jamie Oliver, Atul Kochhar and Cyrus Todiwala.

Diaspo was created out of a London based social impact incubator Zinc VC. The mission was to improve the quality of later life.


The problem they addressed is that the skills and experience of older adults is overlooked. Knowing food is the best way to connect generations, we worked with Diaspo to launch digital products for older adults to work on their passion.


Diaspo connected community throughout the pandemic. They were featured on Sky News, BBC, ITV, Time Out and more. Partnered with celebrity chefs from Jamie Oliver to Atul Kochhar. Worked with some of the biggest companies including Amazon, Spotify and Accenture.

Diaspo's mission was to empower older adults so having an easy to ease app was vital. Our expert Figma designers prioritised intuitive UI/UX and created beautiful designs. Our Bubble developers ensured this was pixel perfect in development.


Given the non-technical nature of their cooks, we automated every process. Home cooks simply added their recipe, and using no code platforms and automation tools like Zapier and Airtable, the experience was seamless. Integrating with Zoom, this automatically scheduled a cooking class and showed on the marketplace where customers could pay in seconds and book their place. Using SendGrid, when the class was finished, each cook would receive the recipe and the recording.

With many companies forced to work from home, we enabled Diaspo to move quickly and offer a new service.


We integrated Typeform into their Bubble app, and an admin dashboard so they could match cooks to companies according to their availability.


The result: they partnered with Spotify, Accenture, Paddy Power, Amazon, Marks & Spencers and more.


With global press, celebrity chefs wanted to partner with Diaspo for live cooking classes. We supported Diaspo as they had an influx of users from being featured on Sky News, BBC and ITV by optimising the database.


We created dynamic pages on Bubble as they collaborated with global chefs including Jamie Oliver, Atul Kochhar and Cyrus Todiwala.

Diaspo wanted to build a Shopify for home cooks. Using Figma, we designed a no code platform that would enable cooks to create an online store in 1 minute. This enabled them to add products, customise their store and connect payment.


We developed this in 1 month on Bubble working with local home cooks to wholesale providers. With an intuitive UI/XU, customers simply added basic details and could create their on store. We created a dashboard that enabled them to customise their store to their brand. They could easily add new products and connect their social media. Integrating Stripe Connect, we enabled Diaspo to take a marketplace fee. To help Diaspo market, we created a way for admins and shop owners to easily add offers.
