In 2019 I left Google to build something of my own.
I had the idea. I had none of the things you are supposed to need for it. No engineering background, no funding, no co-founder to figure it out with. So I did what most first-time founders do. I chased developers who overpromised, watched the quotes climb, and kept telling myself the launch was only a few weeks away. It never was.
Then I found no-code, and built the thing myself in a fortnight.
That fortnight rewired how I see software. The distance between an idea and a real product came down to the tools, and who actually knew how to wield them. Once I saw that, I could not unsee it, and I started Goodspeed to put that same unfair advantage in other people's hands.
